Overview
A company picnic organisation is a one-day event that takes employees and their families by coach from Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir or the surrounding provinces to a large green space close to the city, running from breakfast in the morning to an awards ceremony in the late afternoon. Belgrad Forest in Istanbul, Atatürk Forest Farm in Ankara and the Görece area in İzmir are frequently chosen types of venue. The day follows a full flow of food, tournaments, children's activities and live music.
What is in the programme?
The coaches set off in the morning and, on arrival, a short opening announces the day's programme. After a spread breakfast the tug of war, sack race and egg-and-spoon race begin, together with football, volleyball and basketball tournaments. Lunch is an open-buffet barbecue: meatballs, chicken skewers, chicken wings, lamb chops and grilled vegetables are served alongside rice, pasta, salad and meze.
In the afternoon the area is divided in two: face painting, balloon modelling and a clown show for the children, and live music, dancing and a quiz for the adults. After afternoon tea, prizes are presented to the tournament winners and the coaches leave for the return journey in the early evening.

Planning Notes
- The best periods are May-June and early September; in midsummer the size of the shaded area becomes important.
- A tent or a covered back-up section should be planned on site in case of rain.

Picnic areas are chosen according to the company's city and requirements. Options include Belgrad Forest in Istanbul, Atatürk Forest Farm (AOÇ) or the METU Forest in Ankara, Görece in İzmir, Ayvalık in Balıkesir, the foothills of Uludağ in Bursa and Düden Park in Antalya. Depending on the company's request, private picnic grounds or holiday resorts outside the city can also be chosen.
Coaches leave from the main stop closest to the company's location: designated central points on the European and Asian sides of Istanbul (Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Mecidiyeköy, Levent, Bakırköy, Pendik, Taksim, Beşiktaş, Maltepe, Kartal, etc.), central points in Ankara such as Kızılay, Çankaya, Yenimahalle, Etimesgut, Batıkent and Keçiören, central points in İzmir such as Konak, Karşıyaka, Bornova, Bayraklı and Buca, and the surrounding provinces (Kocaeli, Sakarya, Tekirdağ, Edirne, Bursa, Yalova, Konya, Eskişehir, Manisa, Aydın, Denizli). Door-to-door transport is offered as an additional service.
In light rain, precautions are taken with tents and tarpaulins. In heavy rain or a storm, the programme is postponed or an indoor alternative (a banquet hall, a wedding garden or a hotel conference room) is brought in. The organisation team makes the decision 2 days in advance based on the weather forecast.
One barbecue is provided per group (in groups of 10). Lunch includes meatballs, chicken skewers, chicken wings, lamb chops, grilled vegetables, rice, pasta, a seasonal salad and a selection of meze. Vegetarian and vegan options (grilled vegetables, olive oil dishes, rice with chickpeas, lentil patties) are prepared if requested in advance. Halal-certified meat is used.
