In manufacturing and industrial companies a corporate trip is planned with a different equation from office teams. The plant runs on shifts, most participants are blue-collar, the group usually exceeds 150 people, and the departure point is not a city centre but an organised industrial zone such as Gebze, İzmit, Bursa or Çerkezköy. This page summarises the programme formats we build for plant and site teams, how the shift pattern shapes planning, what matters in mixed blue- and white-collar groups, and the logistics of moving a large crowd.
Which formats work for manufacturing teams?
The formats with the highest attendance in manufacturing companies are the open-air day near the plant, nature and lake routes, history routes and public holiday programmes. What they share is that the programme is completed in a single day and transport departs from and returns to the plant.
Picnic and open-air day near the plant
A full day at a site no more than an hour from the plant, departing in the morning and returning in the evening. The family version is the most popular event in manufacturing companies. Catering, sports tournament, children's area and stage section are set up in a single area; above 250 people the site is divided into zones.
Nature and lake routes
The Sapanca, Maşukiye, Abant and Yedigöller line sits one to two hours from the Marmara industrial zones, so it fits a single-day programme between shifts. Walking, boat and rafting sections are run as two parallel flows by ability level in mixed groups.
History and culture routes
The Çanakkale memorials and the Bursa route are the two cultural programmes in highest demand among industrial teams. Çanakkale usually runs with one overnight stay, Bursa as a single day. Guided commentary starts on the coach; in large groups each vehicle gets its own guide.
Public holiday programmes
The holiday week when the plant has a planned stop, 29 October and the year-end period are the only windows when all shifts can attend at once. In these periods an in-house ceremony or reception format is set up on the plant site or in a nearby hall.
Winter programme
The Uludağ ski and snow day is planned as a single-day format in January and February for plants in Bursa and neighbouring provinces. A parallel snow activity for participants who do not ski is mandatory.
How does the shift pattern affect the programme?
The shift pattern determines the date, the timing and sometimes the number of programmes. In three-shift plants it is not possible to gather the whole workforce in one programme without stopping production, so two solutions are used: repeating the same programme for two groups on two separate days, or timing the programme to coincide with a planned maintenance or holiday stop. In the repeated format the second day is shown as a separate line in the quote. Where the plant prefers a single weekend programme, the shift change time sets the departure time: an early morning departure is never planned without accounting for the rest period of the team coming off the night shift. For that reason the production planning unit is brought into the process alongside HR from the first call.
What matters in mixed blue- and white-collar groups?
The basic rule in mixed groups is that no part of the programme should speak to only one segment. The presentation and speech section is kept short, team games are built with teams mixed across departments, and catering is planned as a single open buffet. In family programmes the children's area and service times are calculated separately. Dress code, transport and accommodation standards are the same for all participants; a separate vehicle or hotel for the management team is something we do not recommend in a mixed programme. In plants with an established safety culture, a risk assessment and a first-aid point are included in the scope of any open-air event.
What changes with headcount?
- 50-150 people: 2-3 coaches, one guide team, one dining area. The programme runs as a single flow.
- 150-250 people: 4-6 coaches, groups organised by vehicle, staggered meal plan and a registration desk. Museum and site visits are split into groups.
- 250-400 people: staggered departure from the plant, site coordinator, marshalling team, medical point and a spare vehicle. The run-of-show is written to the minute; where groups gather from more than one plant, a separate departure plan is prepared for each.
How are coach logistics set up from the Gebze, Bursa and İzmit line?
For groups departing from industrial zones, the number of coaches, the assembly area at the plant gate and the departure time are the three most critical items of the programme. Coaches are positioned so they do not clash with the plant's shift shuttles, each vehicle is assigned a leader and a roll-call list, and departures are staggered at 15-minute intervals. If more than one plant joins the same programme, vehicles do not merge at a single point on the route; each plant travels directly to the destination. On the return, for participants going on to the night shift, the arrival time is planned at least two hours before the shift starts.
Which routes stand out?
The programmes we build most often for manufacturing and industrial teams are these:
- Company Picnic Organisation — an open-air day near the plant for teams of 25-250; a family version is available.
- Sapanca Corporate Meeting — a full-day format close to the Marmara industrial line, combining a meeting with a social programme.
- Maşukiye Corporate Trip — the shortest nature route for plants in Kocaeli and Gebze.
- Yedigöller Corporate Trekking Tour — a nature day for groups of 25-250 planned with a two-level walking route.
- Çanakkale Memorials Corporate Trip — the history route in highest demand among industrial teams, run with one overnight stay.
- Bursa Corporate Trip — a single-day history and culture programme with a low transport burden for plants on the Bursa and İzmit line.
- Uludağ Corporate Ski Tour — a single-day snow programme in January and February; a parallel activity is planned for non-skiers.
How do planning time and the quote process work?
For manufacturing teams we recommend 5-6 weeks of planning for single-day nature and picnic programmes, 6-8 weeks for history routes with an overnight stay and 8-10 weeks for holiday week programmes. Because coach and driver allocation is the first resource to run out in a holiday week, that last figure is not shortened. The quote process runs in this order: in the first call we settle the plant address, shift pattern, estimated headcount and whether families attend; within three working days we send a quote showing transport, catering, venue and field coordination on separate lines; if a repeated programme is required, the second day appears as its own line. Pricing depends on date, headcount and scope; there is no fixed list price.
You can send the request for your plant through the quote form. Stating the shift pattern and the departure point at the request stage improves the accuracy of the first quote.
