Overview
The Kadıköy corporate culture and food trail is a tasting and neighbourhood discovery programme of about seven hours that explores Kadıköy, on Istanbul's Asian side, on foot, from the pier to Moda and on to Yeldeğirmeni. The market's fishmongers and delicatessens, the historic arcades and the street art are seen with a guide. The programme, which includes coach transport, is designed for department and project teams of 8-35 who want to get to know the city by tasting its everyday life.
What is in the programme?
The meeting point is Kadıköy Rıhtım, where a short history of the district from ancient Chalcedon to the present day is given. In the Kadıköy Çarşı (market district), the group visits fishmongers, herbalists, delicatessens and sweet shops, and enters the Halı Pasajı, İskele Pasajı and Suriye Pasajı arcades. It then heads down to the Moda seafront past the old mansions and cafés of Moda Caddesi, walking along the shore and seeing the Greek church from the outside. Lunch is taken at one of the district's well-known restaurants, with regional dishes.
In the afternoon, the murals, workshops and antique shops of Yeldeğirmeni are explored, and the Barış Manço House is seen from the outside. The history of the Süreyya Opera, opened in the 1920s, and of Haydarpaşa Station, completed at the start of the 20th century, is covered. After the street food tastings included in the package, the group moves on to the Kadıköy Tuesday Market if the tour falls on a Tuesday, or otherwise to free time among the bookshops and cafés.

- Lunch, extra tastings and coffee breaks are not included in the package; food allergies should be notified in advance.
- In the narrow market streets, groups are split into sub-groups of 10-12 people.
- Spring and autumn are the best seasons; in rain, the arcades and indoor venues are brought forward.

Yes, areas of Kadıköy such as the market district, Moda and Yeldeğirmeni are explored on foot. In total, about 4-5 km is walked. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. For teams who prefer, public transport (a short bus or minibus ride) can be used for short distances.

The Kadıköy Market is held every Tuesday. It sells fresh fruit and vegetables, regional cheeses, varieties of olives, honey, jam, sürk, spices, nuts, textiles and household goods. If our tour falls on a Tuesday, a market visit can be added to the programme.
Yes, historic arcades such as the Halı Pasajı, İskele Pasajı and Suriye Pasajı have shops selling antiques, jewellery, records, books, souvenirs, handicrafts and accessories. You can shop during the free time.
Yes, the tour is planned entirely and exclusively for companies. The number of guides and the activities are adjusted to group size. It can run with a minimum of 8 people.
Yes, because Kadıköy's arcades, markets, museums, cafés and restaurants are indoors, the tour can continue in the rain. Carrying an umbrella is recommended for the outdoor sections. In heavy rain, the programme can be shifted to indoor venues (for example, a tour of the Süreyya Opera or a film screening).
