What is in the programme?
The day begins at the House of the Virgin Mary on Bülbüldağı. At Ephesus the walk runs downhill, entering through the Magnesian Gate in the upper city: past the Odeon, the Prytaneion, the Temple of Domitian, the Fountain of Trajan and the Baths of Scholastica, the route arrives at the Library of Celsus, the emblem of the city. Along the way, concrete examples explain how this capital of the Roman province of Asia came to be on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015.
After the Great Theatre and the Arcadian Way leading down to the harbour, the group breaks for lunch in Selçuk. In the afternoon the programme covers the remains of the Temple of Artemis, counted among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Basilica of St John on Ayasuluk Hill and the area around Selçuk Castle. If time allows, the Ephesus Museum or the village of Şirince can be added.

- April-May and October-November are the best periods; in summer the heat means the site should be visited early in the morning.
- Marble surfaces can be slippery; non-slip shoes, a hat and water are recommended.
- The Terrace Houses, the Ephesus Museum and the wine tasting in Şirince are not included in the package.
- Lunch, coffee breaks and flights need to be planned separately.
