Why does a corporate programme work on 29 October?
Republic Day is one of the days in the corporate calendar where shared meaning is strongest. It offers a frame everyone connects with, regardless of department, seniority or location. Attendance at programmes held around 29 October is therefore noticeably higher than at an ordinary team event.
The programmes on this page fall into two groups: routes directly connected to the history of the Republic (Anıtkabir, the early Republican architecture of Ankara, Dolmabahçe, Çanakkale), and team programmes that fall in the long break of the holiday week.
Programme options
Ankara: the Republican history route
A full-day programme covering a visit to Anıtkabir, Republican-era public buildings and Ankara's museums. For corporate groups the guiding narrative is built chronologically; where a visit protocol or wreath ceremony is requested, the application is made in advance. For teams travelling from Istanbul and nearby provinces, a single-day format departing in the morning and returning in the evening works well.
Istanbul: the early Republic and Beyoğlu-Pera
Dolmabahçe Palace, Pera and Beyoğlu; a half- or full-day route following the city's transformation in the Republic's first years. The lowest transport burden for teams based in Istanbul.
Çanakkale: history and team programme
A programme covering the memorials and the Troy route, usually run with one overnight stay. Suited to organisations looking for a route with a strong narrative that also strengthens in-team bonds. Accommodation capacity on the Çanakkale line fills early during the holiday week.
Corporate boat programme on the Bosphorus
A format that takes the team out of the office during the holiday week, combining historical narrative with a social programme. Suited to groups of 30-120; because of boat capacity the window for committing a date is short.
Democracy Island and island routes
A half-day option for teams that want to stay within the city but still get properly away from the office environment.
Holiday week logistics
In years when 29 October falls midweek a bridge holiday forms and intercity travel gets busier. Three things need attention in this period:
- Transport: coach and driver allocation is the first resource to run out during the holiday week. Groups needing multiple vehicles should not leave it later than 6 weeks.
- Museum and heritage site hours: opening hours can change on public holidays and some sites restrict access because of ceremonies. We finalise the run-of-show against that information.
- Catering capacity: restaurant capacity for group dining is limited on holidays; an alternative venue scenario is agreed at the quote stage.
Format by headcount
- 20-50 people: one vehicle, one guide, a half- or full-day city route.
- 50-150 people: multiple vehicles, group splits and an hour-by-hour movement plan. Museum visits run in sub-groups.
- 150+ people: a site coordinator, registration desk, staggered movement plan and a backup scenario. Where there is a ceremonial component, a rehearsed run-of-show is prepared.
Quote and scope
Our quote shows transport, guiding, museum and site entry fees, catering and field coordination on separate lines. The whole programme is closed with a single contract and a single invoice; the documents your procurement process requires are supplied with the quote.
It matters that you state your date flexibility: capacity and cost can differ between 29 October itself and the other days of the holiday week.
