On 8 March, content lasts longer than a gift
For a long time corporate practice on 8 March was built around handing out gifts. In recent years HR and diversity teams have been replacing that approach with content-focused programmes: a shared experience, a workshop or a speaker session. The reason is practical — a gift is forgotten within days, while something made together becomes a reference point for in-team dialogue all year.
The programmes on this page fall into three frames: participatory workshops, wellbeing programmes, and culture and gastronomy routes. All can be built as half-day or full-day formats that do not disrupt the office calendar.
Programme options
Creative workshops
Ceramics, painting and craft workshops; the format that works most efficiently for groups of 15-40. It offers a frame in which participants make something together and hierarchy falls into the background. The pieces produced can be displayed in the office afterwards, which extends the effect of the event.
Gastronomy workshops
Short, high-participation formats such as coffee tastings and chocolate workshops. They complete within half a day, need little technical setup and draw broad participation in mixed teams.
Wellbeing and breathwork programmes
Programmes focused on yoga, meditation and breathwork. Preferred by teams coming out of an intense period and by organisations running an employee wellbeing programme. They can be delivered in the office or at a venue close to the city.
Culture and city routes
Culture and food routes on the Fatih and Kadıköy line; half-day programmes with a low transport burden. Suited to organisations that want to get the team out of the office but cannot give up a full day.
Evening programme and fine dining
An evening programme following an in-house talk or panel. Suited to executive teams and mixed guest lists.
Three recommendations on structure
- The event does not have to be only for women employees. In organisations running a diversity programme, formats the whole team attends while the content stays focused on the meaning of the day produce more lasting results. The decision depends on your internal communication strategy; we build programmes for both scenarios.
- Keep the speaker component short. A 20-30 minute session produces higher attendance and recall than a long panel.
- Leave an output. The piece made in the workshop, the photographs taken or a board produced together extend the event's life in the office.
Format by headcount
- 15-40 people: workshop format. One instructor, one space; interaction is highest in this range.
- 40-100 people: parallel workshop stations or a rotating flow. Participants are split into groups and move between stations.
- 100+ people: a hall format combining a speaker session with a workshop; a registration desk and marshalling team are needed.
Scope and quote
Our quote shows the workshop instructor and materials, venue hire, transport, refreshments and field coordination on separate lines. For programmes delivered in the office, setup and clear-down time are stated separately. The whole programme is closed with a single contract and a single invoice.
Stating your estimated headcount, whether the programme will be in or out of the office, and how much time you can give (half day / full day / evening) speeds up planning. 8 March is a busy date; we recommend planning at least 5 weeks ahead for instructor and venue capacity.
