A private Bosphorus yacht tour is a chartered boat reserved for your group alone, cruising the strait between Europe and Asia past palaces, fortresses and waterfront mansions. We organise corporate Bosphorus cruises in Istanbul for groups from around 10 to several hundred guests — sunset cocktails, dinner cruises, daytime sightseeing and sailing activities — with transfers, catering and on-board programme arranged under one proposal.
Vessels, crews and catering are provided by our licensed solution partners; we design the route and timing, coordinate every supplier and stay with the group on the day. Kurumsal Geziler is an Istanbul-based, TÜRSAB-licensed travel company (licence No. 12558) working with corporate groups since 2015.
What kinds of corporate Bosphorus cruise are there?
Most company groups choose between five formats, depending on the time of day and the purpose of the event.
- Sunset cocktail cruise: around two hours in the early evening, with drinks and canapés while the light changes over the European shore. A natural opening for a congress, an incentive trip or a client evening.
- Dinner cruise: three to four hours with a seated or buffet dinner on board, music and, if needed, a short welcome speech, awards or a product presentation.
- Daytime sightseeing cruise: a guided two- to three-hour cruise with commentary on the palaces and yalı mansions, often combined with breakfast or lunch on board. See our Bosphorus corporate boat trip and the waterfront mansions cruise.
- Golden Horn extension: the boat turns into the Golden Horn after the Galata Bridge, adding the historic shoreline of Fener and Balat to the route.
- Sailing or regatta activity: teams crew sailing yachts under a skipper's direction — a hands-on team activity rather than a passive cruise. See the sunset corporate sailing experience and the corporate sailing experience.
Small executive groups often book a private yacht for a board dinner or a client meeting on the water, while larger groups use the cruise as the setting for an awards night or a product launch.
How long is a Bosphorus cruise?
A corporate Bosphorus cruise usually lasts between two and four hours, depending on the format.
| Format | Typical duration | Typical group size | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunset cocktail cruise | About 2 hours | 10–150 guests | Welcome evenings, client receptions |
| Dinner cruise | 3–4 hours | 20–150 guests, more with several boats | Gala dinners, awards, product launches |
| Daytime sightseeing cruise | 2–3 hours | 10–250 guests | Incentive and congress groups, first-time visitors |
| Golden Horn extension | Adds about 1 hour | Any size | Groups interested in the historic city |
| Sailing / regatta activity | Half day | 10–80 guests, split into crews | Team building, leadership groups |
| Princes' Islands day trip | Full day | 10–80 guests | Relaxed incentive days, retreats |
Exact timings depend on the pier, traffic to the pier and the season; they are confirmed in the programme you receive with the proposal.

What do you see on a Bosphorus boat tour?
On a standard route you see the Ottoman palaces, mosques, fortresses and mansions that line both shores of the strait.
- Dolmabahçe Palace — the 19th-century palace on the European shore, with its long marble façade facing the water.
- Ortaköy Mosque and the Bosphorus Bridge — the most photographed view of the strait, with the mosque at the water's edge beneath the first bridge.
- Kuruçeşme and Bebek — waterfront neighbourhoods of cafés, restaurants and elegant apartment blocks.
- Rumeli Fortress — the 15th-century fortress built before the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople, near the second bridge.
- Yalı mansions — timber waterfront houses on both shores, built as summer residences for Ottoman families.
- Beylerbeyi Palace and the Asian shore — the palace beside the bridge, followed by Kuzguncuk and Üsküdar.
- Maiden's Tower — the small tower on an islet off Üsküdar, close to where the Bosphorus meets the Sea of Marmara.
With the Golden Horn extension, the boat passes the Galata Bridge and continues along the Fener and Balat shoreline, with its churches, colourful houses and views back to the old city. Groups who want to explore that area on foot can add the Fener and Balat walking tour.
What size of boat do we need?
Boat size follows the group size and the format; we propose suitable vessels from our solution partners' fleet once dates are known.
- Executive and small groups (about 10–30 guests): private motor yachts or sailing yachts with an open deck and an indoor salon.
- Mid-size groups (about 50–150 guests): larger excursion boats or event vessels with a dining area, bar and sound system.
- Large groups: several boats sailing in convoy, or a large event vessel where available, with a shared timing plan.
Specific vessels depend on availability for your date and are named in the proposal, not in advance.
Where do Bosphorus cruises depart from?
Private cruises depart from piers along the European shore such as Kuruçeşme, Bebek, Karaköy or Eminönü; the pier is chosen according to your hotel location and the route. Coaches or minibuses bring the group from the hotel or the meeting venue to the pier and back, and boarding is timed to avoid the heaviest road traffic.

What can be arranged on board?
A corporate cruise can be a simple sightseeing trip or a full event with catering, music and branding.
- Welcome drinks, canapés, seated or buffet dinners and breakfast or lunch menus from licensed caterers
- Live music, a DJ or a quiet background playlist
- Company branding, welcome signs and a short speech or toast
- A photographer or videographer for the event
- Awards, product presentations or a launch moment timed with sunset
- A guide giving commentary on the palaces and mansions in English or another language on request
Executive groups often combine the cruise with a private dinner ashore; see our Istanbul corporate fine dining experience.
Can you cruise the Bosphorus in winter?
Yes — Bosphorus cruises run all year, and in winter groups use vessels with enclosed, heated salons. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons for open-deck cruising, and summer evenings suit sunset and dinner cruises. Sunset times vary considerably through the year, so departure times are set by month. Departures depend on weather and sea conditions, and the timing or route may be adjusted on the day for safety.
Can we go to the Princes' Islands by boat?
Yes — the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara make a full-day boat trip from Istanbul. Groups usually visit Heybeliada and Büyükada, explore on foot or by electric vehicle and have lunch on the island. See the Princes' Islands corporate trip for a sample programme.

How do you combine a cruise with the rest of an Istanbul programme?
The most common combination is a guided day in the old city followed by an evening cruise. Sultanahmet, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace and the Grand Bazaar fill the day, and the group boards in the late afternoon for a sunset or dinner cruise. See Istanbul old town corporate tours for daytime itineraries, and Istanbul DMC services for multi-day incentives, meetings and conferences.
How to get a proposal
Send us your group size, preferred dates, hotel area and the purpose of the evening — welcome reception, gala dinner, team activity or sightseeing. We return two or three options with route, timings, vessel type and catering, itemised in the proposal. One coordinator then manages the boat, transfers and suppliers through to the end of the cruise. To start, use the request form.
